Diesel engine Sulzer 10.700 C.V.

motordiesel06.jpg (39447 bytes)Amongst the different branches in naval modelling, we very often forget about machinery. Whenever we decide to reproduce engines (if we ever do so), they tend to be very schematic and simple and we do not usually show the engine rooms or the machinery in our models.

motordiesel02.jpg (32815 bytes)This model, manufactured and presented by Jaime Fontova Teixido, shows us the great possibilities that motors have in naval modelling.

motordiesel05.jpg (32180 bytes)It is a 2-time overfed reversible crosshead diesel motor having 10 cylinders and being the biggest ever manufactured at the workshops of the "Maquinista Terrestre y Marítima" (Earth and Naval Machinery) in Barcelona in 1957.

motordiesel01.jpg (30655 bytes)The machine is completely built in brass and tin, at a 1/30 scale, and it has taken around 4000 hours to finish.

This is a unique piece, worthy of being showcased in a museum, which is sold by its author at 3,000,000 pesetas with a black marble base and its corresponding glass case
