The model
The
realization of the hull out of wooden is one little more traditional,
since it is about one bordered on couples. Construction was coated with
G4 and was reinforced outside by a entoilage. Judiciously coated with
mastic polyester for car and sandpapered with the fine grain, puckering
disappeared to finally let appear the smooth hull like a mirror. Carlos
Alonzo gave a certain attention to the original realization of the ber,
which consists of two compass cards surmounted by tenons intended to
support the boat. It is true that the ber is to some extent the ECRIN
which presents the model, a principle too often apparently forgotten by
considerable model makers. The bridge of Argonos simply consists of a
whole of slightly openwork slats in order to highlight each board; in
oneself nothing special, but the result is nevertheless more conclusive,
which proves once again that professionalism can be recognized in
simplicity. The cabin is entirely made out of polystyrene (plasticard)
of two millimetres, whose each element was welded using thinner. The
smallest parts of upperworks, such as the levels, various protections
and the soquets of lamps are out of brass or aluminium. The textured
footboards are carried out starting from copper sheets on which were
printed their textures. The result is plunged in an iron perchloride
bath, which makes it possible to dissolve the copper not
protected by ink, therefore to erase spaces between the grooves and
obtaining a certain relief finally (technical used in the development of
the printed circuits in electronics). The interior of the link is also
reproduced and by withdrawing his dismountable roof, one discovers the
bar, a summary furniture, the sonar and his screen, the radar, as well
as a multitude of small accessories. The cabin is removable in only one
part and they are the air flows compressed, intended for the winch and
pump power supply, which is used as electric connector to exempt the
current necessary to the lighting of this part of the boat. The whole of
the masts is out of welded brass, choice which proves quite practical in
order to have an electric ground for the lamp power supply: process
retained by the majority of the model makers. Moreover, in accordance
with the original boat, certain cables are apparent, which facilitates
the routing of the current of course. On these masts are reproduced two
veils intended exclusively to attenuate possible rolling which would
take the boat under the effect of the swell. The many pulleys are made
out of brass whereas the whole of the ropes were made using a
minicomputer-drilling machine. The trawl and its whole of command are
rather particular, since they contain a device functioning starting from
compressed air, energy exempted on board boat by myriade of pipes and
valves. The trawl of demounting, that in red installed on the back port
side, required a detailed attention in order to be able to produce a
tool equipped with all its pipes in conformity with reality. The fishing
nets come from synthetic falls of curtains tinted in various baths of
subtly diluted painting. The wish of realism was thorough rather far by
Carlos Alonzo. Thus, for the realization of the figurines, it made of
them one with the image of the captain of the boat, of which it has a
photograph. The other characters are of imagination, but one
nevertheless notices the sailor with the beret which does not disavow
its origins. Each character is carried out starting from heteroclite
parts because of the scale of the model, bus should it be specified, the
1/27 2nd is not a current dimension. In short, its figurines was thus,
and in turn, cut out, quartered, and even trucidées, to reappear again
in bodies adapted to the atmosphere of Argonos.
Moreover, each figurine was painted with oil, field in which Carlos
Alonzo excels from now on. The setting in painting of the whole of the
model was done exclusively using a broad flat brush, technique which
seems difficult with the eyes of many model makers, because of the
traces which possibly appear. It is undoubtedly the quality of synthetic
paintings Levis Satin, whose hues were drawn from the broad range of the
mark, which made it possible to obtain this appreciable result. The
installation of the radio control is simpler, only a diesel sound-effects
man was added. The Monoperm engine actuates an artisanal brass propeller
which is a certified copy of the original model photographed in the dry
hold by our model maker. A battery of six volts exempts the current with
the speed regulator, as to forty lamps which clarify the model. As
regards navigation, Argonos is majestic in spite of its quatre-vingt-cinq
centimetres. Are rudder good dimensions can make it profit from the
tight turns. The model does not suffer from possible rolling due to a
too high centre of gravity because the choice of materials was made
consequently. The philosophy of Carlos Alonzo, as regards construction
of reduced model, is to reduce the cost of materials to the maximum
because it acts above all of a hobby. Thus the majority of the parts
come from various recoveries which it operates mainly screen prints some,
field in which it works. Only the engine, the radio installation and the
electric bulbs come from the trade, and one can deduce from it that
Argonos cost to our model maker only one bread mouthful, which did not
prevent it from carrying out a very beautiful model.
